A kind of mental illness that affects a person’s psychological and social behavior and perception Personal Disorders are caused by various factors. Each kind of personal disorder has its own reasons and treatments, while some are easy to identify and deal with others can be a difficult form of illness.

Personal Disorders, no matter what kind, has one main symptom and that is making a person feel low and unhappy about life, people and themselves. The general symptoms include self-destructive feelings, identity problem, no or bad self image, disregard for law or rules, lack of interest in social gathering or meeting people, lack of empathy, excessive need of praise and admiration from others, sensitivity towards criticism or negative evaluation, emotional eating problems, lack of interest in anything or everything and many more.

The different kinds of Personality Disorders are Obsessive-Compulsive, Borderline, Dependent, Paranoid, Avoidant, Histrionic, Antisocial, Schizoid, Narcissistic and Schizotypal. A major problem arises when a person suffering from a personality disorder does not realize it, because to him/her the behavior and attitude might seem normal and initiated by the situation.

Personality disorders often strike the personal well being, personal relationship, work and social circle of a person and thus, can harm more than physical or emotional ways. The most common and general symptoms of Personal Disorders include frequent mood swings, anger outbursts, problem in making friends and getting close to others, inability to trust others easily, social isolation and satisfaction in staying alone, poor impulse control, unhappy relationships as well as excessive and urgent need for praise, gratification and motivation.
